Isentropic Calc

Isentropic flow occurs when the change in flow variables is small and gradual. Usually seen in ideal flow through a nozzle. The starred conditions occur when the flow is choked and the Mach number is equal to one. Mass flow rate is at a maximum with Mach = 1 (choked flow)

K (or also known as gamma) is 1.4 for air. But this value can be changed if desired.

Input the desired value into the input box and push one of the blue buttons (Mach, T/Tt, P/Pt, p/pt, A/A* subsonic, A/A* supersonic, q/P, Mach Angle, Prandtl Meyer Angle) that this number represents. For example, if you want to input Mach 1.2, tap the input box and enter in the number 1.2. Then press the Mach button. Note that the area ratio has two solutions, so when using the area ratio buttons (A/A* sub and A/A* sup), you need to have in mind whether you are looking for the subsonic or supersonic solutions

Clear Button: Clears the input display
Plot Button: Plots all parameters vs Mach number regardless of whether there is data in the input box or not. The plot page can be pinch zoomed.
